Get Rid of Hair Bumps!

What are Ingrown Hair Bumps?

When you’re staring at those pimply ingrown hair bumps on your skin, do you ever wonder what they are and how you can get rid of them?

Here’s the deal on these nasty little bumps.

Each of our hairs grows inside a hair follicle. Normally, the hair grows out straight, right through the top of the hair follicle. But, when we remove part or all of the hair, we give it a chance to become ingrown.

When we shave, pluck, or remove hair in some other way, we can have problems when it starts to grow back. That’s because when the hair grows up to the surface of our skin, sometimes it will curl backwards. That’s when it grows back into the hair follicle, instead of coming out straight.

If you have ingrown hair bumps, sometimes you can even see the hair curled up inside the pimple-like bump. Some people recommend tweezing the hair, but if you do this, beware–you may wind up with an infection. A better solution is to use a product that’s designed to help your skin heal, and to keep it smooth and silky. An even better solution is to take steps to prevent these bumps from happening in the first place.

Here’s one of the best tips for preventing ingrown hair bumps: exfoliate.

Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, and it also causes an increase in blood circulation to whatever area you exfoliate.  Exfoliating helps to clear out our pores, too. So, this one extra step can remove dead skin cells from your most bump-prone areas, and it also helps to clear out natural oils and other stuff that collects in our pores. The end result is healthier, smoother skin–and a reduction in ingrown hairs and razor rash.
